March 1, 2012... An Update from VCAP... Dear
Friends of VCAP, I
am writing to share with you a significant change in the future of Ventura
County AIDS Partnership (VCAP). This change is the result of several converging
sets of local and national circumstances resulting in the winding down of VCAP
activities over the course of 2012. We will continue to fund and manage our
grant projects for 2012, but will not issue an RFP in the fall for 2013
funding. Click for Full Story
In 1995, through partnership with National AIDS Fund (now AIDS United), United Way of Ventura County and Ventura County Community Foundation co-convened Ventura County AIDS Partnership in response to the local HIV/AIDS epidemic. On an annual basis, we strive to:
1. Assess and document the needs of people infected and affected by HIV in Ventura County.
2. Raise and allocate funds for local HIV/AIDS programs. 3. Receive and manage matching funds from the AIDS United. 4. Ensure the successful implementation of all funded programs and annually assess the overall effectiveness of VCAP’s grant making activities. 5. Foster programmatic innovation and collaboration between all agencies and organizations providing HIV/AIDS related services. 6. Broaden the public’s perception of HIV/AIDS as an important community issue.
